FLINTA Football Tournament
Take part in this 1-day friendly tournament, make new football-loving FLINTA & Queer friends, and stick around for drinks and BBQ!
Date: Sunday July 14
Time: 12 – 5pm
Location: Footy Park Amsterdam
Who: All football-loving FLINTA and Queer folk* are welcome (18+). Please read the disclaimer at the bottom of the page before joining!
Tournament Set-Up
This tournament will be a bit different than others – we don’t have team entries! Sign up as an individual and you’ll be assigned on a team by the organisers. If you have a friend you’d like to play with, you can mention it on the form. We chose this format to encourage making new friends in the community – which also can be more fun and full of surprises 🙂
Format
5v5 tournament, playing the Footy rules (info will be emailed to you when you register)
20 minute matches
6-7 players per team
Volunteer referee’s – you can also sign up to ref!
The spirit of this tournament is about positive sportsmanship and fun competition, while celebrating our queerness & diversity through football. Moving away from gendered sport categories, we’ve instead created 3 level-based categories to make sure everyone can participate:
1. Beginner
2. Intermediate
3. Advanced
Whatever level you are in football, we encourage you to play! Our hope is to have 3 separate categories, but depending on the sign-ups we may need to mix. We aim to ensure everyone will play at least 2-3 games, possibly more if your team advances to the final rounds. We will do our best to ensure the teams are created as fair as possible and there is minimal waiting time between games!
Teams will be finalised and sent by July 7th so make sure to fill out the form before that date to ensure you have a spot!
What’s Included
Each tournament participant will receive 1 of Louie’s famously delicious BBQ wraps (chicken OR vegan option) that you definitely don’t want to miss out on! Our venue partner, Footy Amsterdam, has the PERFECT setup to enjoy drinks & food on the terrace, while watching the matches. Invite your friends to cheer you along and enjoy the (hopefully) sunny day with a cold beverage – the Footy bar will be open all day! The tournament will be a chance to mingle and get to know others from the community, so don’t worry if you come solo 🙂 we encourage this, too!
Prizes
As we are totally non-profit, we’re working on securing fun prizes to the winners and other individual categories from community partners. We’ll have more info closer to the date! Meanwhile, if you have a prize to contribute, you can get in touch with us at flinta.football@gmail.com
THANK YOU TO OUR PARTNERS!

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMERS FOR PARTICIPATION! Please read the below before joining:
1. FLINTA Football is first & foremost a FLINTA & BIPOC safe space. Discrimination, domination, or prejudice towards any person or groups of people will not be tolerated. Queer folk (namely cis-men) are welcome to participate so long as they respect the feminist-queer space we are aiming to create and be cautious about taking up too much space!
FLINTA: Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Nonbinary, Trans, Agender
BIPOC: Black, Indigenous, People of Color
2. We believe sport has the power to advocate for the most marginalised, and we as FLINTA Football are committed to using our platform to bring attention to the causes most affecting our collective today. We vehemently oppose the Israeli apartheid and ethnic cleansing being committed on the Palestinian people. We reject pinkwashing, where LGBTQ+ rights are used to justify Palestinian oppression, and demand true LGBTQ+ support alongside the rights of all oppressed peoples. We stand for the liberation of the Palestinian people, and of all oppressed peoples worldwide.
