Join Queer Wheels and Pedal for Pride this summer!
Pedal for Pride 2024 (wielrennen / cycling) Cycling is an amazing sport. It’s an important part of everyday life in the Netherlands. We cycle to work, to get our groceries, to work out, or just to feel good. However when it comes to joining a club or getting into cycling as an amateur, there are lots of barriers for LGBTQIA+ people. It’s well known that the cycling industry at all levels is not inclusive or diverse. This culture needs to shift.
Pedal For Pride is an initiative to raise awareness, create connections and celebrate Pride in cycling. The rides will be at a social pace and you are all welcome to join Sebastien on one of their legs.

We’re here to help pedal it into the future. We want to challenge discrimination and support cyclists, cycling clubs and governing bodies through education to make cycling a safe(r) space for LGBTQIA+ people.
Pedal For Pride is an initiative to raise awareness, create connections and celebrate Pride in cycling. During Queer Amsterdam Pride Week, Queer Wheels will host its annual Pride Ride in collaboration with Pride and Sports and We Are Queer.
We will host 3 groups of different routes and speeds.

We will have groups of different routes and speeds for all levels. All groups will have a Queer Wheels ride leader to guide and support you.
At the end of our rides, we will celebrate at TWO TONE with music and food from BBQ Bike!
Allies welcome and encouraged!

Beginners Ride
- 30km
- Party-pace
- Supportive group ride for those new to cycling in groups
- Lead by Ride Leader
- We go over group riding rules before departing
Social Ride
- 45km
- 24-26km/h
- Lead by Ride Leader
- Group riding experience needed
- Clipped pedals required
Fast Social Ride
- 60km
- 28-30km/h
- Lead by Ride Leader
- Group riding experience needed
- Clipped pedals required
PLEASE BRING:
- Helmet (This is mandatory. No helmet = no ride)
- Well maintained bike (these rides are for road or gravel bikes only. No oma fiets/city bikes, single speed, fixie or tri bikes.)
- Clothing suitable for cycling / weather conditions
- Small snack (cereal bars etc)
- Sun Screen
- Water

We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave an event if they are a danger to themselves or the group.
