Op het asfalt in de ‘Sports Zone’ van het Homomonument en Westerkerk laten we showcases zien van verschillende sporten Aan het begin van de middag zijn er workshops voor verschillende leeftijden\, van kinderen tot volwassenen. SUMMARY:Amsterdam Lowlanders | Touch Rugby Takeover
DESCRIPTION:The Amsterdam LGBTQ+ Lowlanders Rugbyclub\, which has two men’s teams and a women’s team\, will host a touch rugby game on Dam Square. The game will be a fun and interactive event where participants can wear underwear or ugly dresses/costumes. Our goal is to demonstrate that rugby is a sport for anyone\, and that our club and the larger rugby community value inclusivity\, queerness\, and acceptance. Anyone can join in the touch games\, and the rules of the game will be explained before we begin. \nLGBTQ+ individuals may be hesitant to participate in team sports due to fear of bullying or rejection\, but we want to show you that you can find community through sports like rugby. Many people believe that only certain types of individuals\, such as those who are big\, butch\, or strong\, can play sports\, but we want to demonstrate that any person\, regardless of body type\, can play and be accepted. Through the underwear/speedo/ugly dress competition\, we hope to promote acceptance and show that anyone can participate. We expect more than 100 people to participate\, and our desired outcomes are to recruit new players for the Lowlanders and to provide an interactive and enjoyable experience for both the Lowlanders and the community.

We geloven in de kracht van eten\, sport en muziek als bindende elementen die onze LHBTIQAP+ gemeenschappen versterken en vriendschappen smeden. Pride and Sports organiseert de Zaterdag zowel voor urban sports als ook reguliere sporten en activiteiten\, begeleid door ervaringsdeskundigen. Of je nu een doorgewinterde sporter bent of gewoon zin hebt om iets nieuws te proberen\, bij ons kun je je hart ophalen. We bieden een breed scala aan sporten waar je actief aan kunt deelnemen. Of je nu hier bent om je passies te delen\, nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten of gewoon een geweldige tijd te hebben\, je bent van harte welkom! \n \nDit jaar staat het creëren van ‘safer-spaces’ centraal. Op het asfalt in de ‘Urban Sports Zone’ van het Museumplein laten we showcases zien van verschillende sporten Aan het begin van de middag zijn er workshops voor verschillende leeftijden\, van kinderen tot volwassenen. Daarna zijn er safe-space jams. We nodigen hier alle ‘allies’ in de urban community uit voor deze jams. Zo maken we een gezamenlijk statement dat de straat van iedereen is en de urban lifestyle inclusief sporten omarmt. DESCRIPTION:The Amsterdam Lowlanders Rugby Club Transgender Inclusion Clinic \nThe Amsterdam Lowlanders Rugby Club invites you to participate in a clinic aimed at raising understanding and increasing awareness of transgender inclusion in rugby. \nTransgender player inclusion in rugby has been a hot topic in recent years. World Rugby\, the highest governing body in rugby\, has proposed a blanket law for transwomen playing at all levels\, from elite to grassroot\, stating that they should be banned from the game and are not allowed to play with ciswomen\, under the pretence this would pose a safety risk. Where many other governing bodies and organizations within sports have developed policies and guidelines to support transgender athletes\, ensuring they have equal opportunities to participate in sport at all levels\, there are still stigmas and perceptions about the inclusion of trans athletes in rugby\, including accommodations such as the ability to compete in accordance with their gender identity. Educational resources and support systems are needed to raise awareness and promote understanding among coaches\, players\, and fans\, and ultimately governing bodies. Discussion led by Joost on the fears\, commonly held misconceptions and sharing of personal experiences. Participants will be divided into teams to encourage honest responses.\n12:10 PM to 12:50 PM\nChallenging Misconceptions through Sports led by Michelle. An interactive physical workout featuring various rugby exercises and activities aimed at debunking the top three misconceptions.\n12:50 PM to 1:00 PM\nWrap Up and Closing Thoughts led by Michelle and Joost. A discussion on actions that can be taken to bring change to the sport.\n1:00 PM – 13:45\nLunch for all participants\n14:30 – 16:00\nLowlanders W vs. Netherlands National Student Team Match. All participants are invited to stay and watch this match. \nWhat to wear\nPlease come dressed for outdoor physical activity. This workshop will not only challenge your mind but also your body\, so wear comfortable workout clothing. Sports shoes with studs are preferred\, but normal trainers are also fine. We suggest bringing a change of clothes in case the activities get muddy. Playing rugby involves physical contact. If you have your own gumshield (mouthgard or ‘gebitsbeschermer’) you are advised to bring it. Gumshields will be provided at the clinic.
