DESCRIPTION:Join Queer Wheels and Pedal for Pride this summer!\nPedal for Pride 2024 (wielrennen / cycling) Cycling is an amazing sport. It’s an important part of everyday life in the Netherlands. We cycle to work\, to get our groceries\, to work out\, or just to feel good. However when it comes to joining a club or getting into cycling as an amateur\, there are lots of barriers for LGBTQIA+ people. It’s well known that the cycling industry at all levels is not inclusive or diverse. This culture needs to shift. \nPedal For Pride is an initiative to raise awareness\, create connections and celebrate Pride in cycling. The rides will be at a social pace and you are all welcome to join Sebastien on one of their legs. \n“The road doesn’t judge you.\nThe bike doesn’t care who you are .\nIt’s a safe space to be yourself\, and that should be the case for everyone everywhere. Cycling is freedom.” \n[Sebastien Sutherland (they/them)] \nWe’re here to help pedal it into the future. We want to challenge discrimination and support cyclists\, cycling clubs and governing bodies through education to make cycling a safe(r) space for LGBTQIA+ people. \nPedal For Pride is an initiative to raise awareness\, create connections and celebrate Pride in cycling. During Queer Amsterdam Pride Week\, Queer Wheels will host its annual Pride Ride in collaboration with Pride and Sports and We Are Queer. \nWe will host 3 groups of different routes and speeds. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Queer Wheels and Pedal for Pride this summer!\nWe will have groups of different routes and speeds for all levels.
